Sarah McKiddy and the Memory Hub: A Study of Programming and its effects on Dementia patients

The Balourdet Quartet engages with audiences everywhere– from breweries, to retirement communities, to public schools and fosters an environment for all with their “infectious spirit” (Chicago Classical Review). They are collaborating and having “positive impact” (Seattle Times)with the Memory Hub in Seattle to co-design new music-based programming for people living with memory loss and their care partners. In partnership with the research of University of Washington Nursing PhD candidate Sarah McKiddy, the Quartet’s musical programs with community classes such as tai-chi, dance, and art will be a practical blueprint for future arts-health collaboration other organizations can adapt.
